Registration Date to VERBİS is Extended due to Covid-19

Due to Covid-19 epidemic, many workplaces stopped working physically or switched to home office working system. Because of the Covid-19 outbreak, it is difficult for the data controllers to prepare personal data processing inventory, prepare a data map and register to Registry Information System (VERBİS). According to the Data Protection Board’s decision dated 23/06/2020 and numbered 2020/482 and with the announcement published on Board’s website, registration dates to VERBİS are extended as follows:
- Individuals or legal entity data controllers, who are employing more than 50 personnel annually or having a total annual balance sheet above TRY 25,000,00 and who are residing abroad must enroll until 30.09.2020.
- Individuals or legal entity data controllers, who are employing less than 50 personnel annually or having a total annual balance sheet below TRY 25,000,00 but processing sensitive data as the main area of activity must enroll until 31.03.2021.
- Data controllers, who are state institutions or governmental organizations must enroll until 31.03.2021.
